March 28, 2008

Looking back, it is hard to believe that Drew and I have been married for three years.  So much has changed.  So much has happened.  On Sunday, we celebrated the occasion by going to Boomer’s (miniature golf) and Steamer’s (seafood restaurant in Pismo) without Callen.  He stayed home with Grammie and Grandpa.  Our date would be the first adventure together without the boy.

So much of the past few months have been focused on preparing and nurturing Callen that it was refreshing to focus on each other without the distraction of a crying baby.  During our evening out we reminisced about a few of the fun memories we created over the years.  Here are a few:

Pre-marriage
Our first camping trip: The Pinnacles with Daniel and Katie (2006)
Spring Break Yosemite camping trip (2007) in the snow with Wesley House friends

Year 1 (2008)
First weeks in our first apartment: no bed (sleeping on the floor), no refrigerator (using an ice chest), no oven (using a toaster oven), no lights in the living room, and no internet (stealing the neighbors).
Arguments with MCI to cancel the phone line with a phone bill last paid in 2000
Drew graduating from Cal Poly
Looking for jobs
Surviving Mono
Floating the river in Montana, visiting Flathead Lake and Glacier National Park

Year 2 (2009)
Shaver Lake camping (twice) with Tim, Dan, Kevin and David (yes, I was the only girl)
Mexi Mallows (the most dangerous form of chemical weaponry available in the grocery store)
Swimming across the lake on a tree trunk

Year 3 (2010)
Preparing for Callen
Doctor and hospital visits
New hobby: kite flying
Shaver Lake (again), but not the only girl this time (yay, for Shelby)

Year 4 (2011)
???
