We apologize for the late update.  I've been busy trying to get my mom's Mother's Day gift completed.  Better late than never (for both the gift and the update).

Happiest time of the day: after eating
Grumpiest time of day: when I delay his nap time because of errands or friends

Month of Firsts:
Projectile vomit
Finding thumb unassisted (left-hand)
Sleeping in his crib at night (no longer in the Pack ‘n Play in the hallway)
6+ hour car trip
Being left in the church nursery for 3 hours during Thursday morning Bible Study
3 days without pooping
Sleeps ~10 hours at night, waking for one feeding (~7 hours)
Surviving a night without help from Dad (Drew away at a bachelor party)

Daily Routine (so far):
Same as last month: Eat, Wake, Sleep with about 4-5 naps during the day and 6-7 feedings

For about 2 weeks, Callen didn’t want to be held when going down for a nap…instead he would cry himself to sleep (very painful to listen to), but would only cry for 5-10 minutes then it would suddenly stop.  Since we don’t give him the pacifier when sleeping, I decided to un-swaddle one arm to see if he would suck himself to sleep.  And it worked! No crying!  I don’t want to be accused of biasing him to be left-handed, so I typically leave the right hand un-swaddled…and sometimes he wiggles the left hand out :)

Best Advice this monthThanks Michelle!
Place Callen on the floor/in his chair when he is happy and play with him while not holding him.  Slowly I’ve been able to train him to entertain himself and not be directly in sight.  I’ve been able to cook, clean, sew, fold laundry, wash dishes, etc.  He will stay content in one position for ~30 minutes before I have to “change the scenery” or his position.  Consequence: Strip of his head with less hair from rubbing his head on the Wiggle Worm gym.

Funniest Moments:
There are two, and both have to do with poop.
(1) Now that his bowels have slowed down to one movement a day or skipping days, they have become much more explosive and have increased in volume.  After 3 days without a bowel movement, he destroyed his diaper while sitting in his chair and reading Curious George (actually I was reading to him).  Like a good mother, I promptly got up to change him, only to find the damage bigger than I orginally thought: full diaper (yes, FULL), poop up to his chest and pooled in his belly button.  Needless to say, after a brief wipe down , he went into the bath tub.  Unfortunately, Dad missed the blow-out by 15 minutes.

(2) Again, just as Dad was getting home from work and on day 2 without pooping, Callen lets loose.  Instead of changing him immediately, I wait to make sure he is done.  We continue "talking" and singing while sitting on my lap.  After 5 minutes I stand up to change him.  As I move him from my lap, poop starts pouring (like Niagara Falls) down his left leg.  I start screaming, "What do I do?" Drew says with urgency, "Don't just stand there.  Move."  So I run to the changing table leaving a puddle and trail of poop.  Drew cleans Callen, and I clean the carpets for the next 30 minutes.  The most amazing part is that I didn't get one drop of poop on myself!  How that happened I'll never know.
