Miller “Must Have’s” (0-3 months)...continued

After the last post, I thought a a few more "luxury" items that have made the transition into parenthood easier for us.

(10) Summertime SwaddleMe: We used blankets to swaddle Callen during the first few weeks, but he quickly learned to escape.  At 4 months we still swaddle at least one arm.  We have two: one that stays at home and one in the diaper bag in case we are out with friends during nap time.

(11) Soothie Pacifiers: No explanation necessary.  Alternative names in our house: the plug and a fake.

(12) Pack'n Play: We used ours as a bassinet for the first 3 months.  Now that he sleeps in his crib we plan to use it as a "safe" play area.

(13) White Noise Maker: Initially, we thought this was the stupidest accessory  that came with our Pack'nPlay.  Little did we know that it would save our sanity (at least what's left of it).  The first night we used it, we couldn't calm him down.  Flipped the switch, and BAM! calm and asleep. One word can describe this kind of experience when you are frustrated and sleep deprived: Magical.  This one has three volumes and automatically shuts off after 15 minutes.

(14) Mesh Lingerie Bag:  I know it sounds weird, but don't you hate it when after doing laundry you can't find all of your socks?  Imagine that frustration when the socks are miniature.  Be frustrated no longer!  As long as you remember to zip the bag before washing, the problem of missing socks (at least for Callen) has been solved.  (We learned this from Drew's brother, Tyler.)
