· Does history really matter?
· Is there ever a good reason to go into debt?
- School, buying a house, sickness…maybe the question should be, “Is going into debt ever the best option?”
- Is it ever a good idea to use debt as a way to become prosperous (ie: student loans--better job, mortgage payment--increase property value)?
- I wish there was a little number above cars driving down the freeway showing how much was still owed on the car. I think the numbers might be surprising.
· What is the purpose of marriage? If marriage is not a religious institution created by God, then who “invented” marriage?
- If you really think about the covenant of marriage, why would you voluntarily commit yourself to another failed human being for the rest of your life? For love? Family? There’s got to be something more to it besides love and reproduction, otherwise it seems we are setting ourselves up for failure (ie: divorce, strained relationships, misery, disappointment, shattered expectations).
· What if equal emphasis was placed on marketing products that were fair trade (ie: fair labor practices, not using child slaves, etc.) rather than “going green” and saving the planet?
-Ever looked into buying fair trade cocoa? It’s expensive compared to the non-fair trade Nestle.
· How would our world be different if people researched and contemplated their worldview before subscribing to it instead of believing/following leaders because of their charisma? (ie: read their “sacred” texts, look at history, consider the implications, etc.)
· What would it look like if our society (family, community, politics, education) valued and expected men to have honor, integrity and high moral character?
- Not picking on guys here, just wondering if men took the lead in becoming men of integrity, would other parts of society follow?
· Why is there an inheritance tax?
And I wonder why I have trouble falling asleep or turning my brain off.
Time to stop...Callen is waking up.
