For those of you who received my email prayer request back in June for our friends Brian and Wren Horn, here is the latest update:
"Grace Elizabeth Horn was born at 12:15 am (Sunday, August 28th). She is 3 pounds 10 ounces and is 17 inches long. She is health for a 32 week baby. Wren was able to do a natural delivery and should be able to start her next round off treatments very quickly!"
For those that didn't know, Wren was 25 weeks pregnant and diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. After hours of talking with specialists and praying, they decided to start chemo treatments while remaining pregnant to give Baby Grace more time to develop.
On Wednesday at 32 weeks, tests results showed that a more aggressive approach needed to be taken to fight against the cancer, and Wren was induced on Saturday.
Wren starts further cancer treatment soon, and Baby Grace will remain in the NICU. For further updates, click here or join their facebook support page: "Wren Horn Support".
While the healthy delivery of Grace is nothing short of a joyous miracle, there is still a battle ahead.
Continue to pray for their family:
Radiation, surgery and chemo will kill the cancer and side effects will be minimal
Continued health, grow and development of Grace
No side effects of starting chemo in utero
Strength and encouragement for Brian
Laughter and silliness will fill their house
Patience and understanding for Braden (3) and Eli (1)
Continued helpers to watch the boys, make dinner, help with chores, etc.
