Unlocking the Secret to Joyful Giving (part 1)

A couple weeks back we were talking with our friends about the benefits of going to a financial seminar (like Crown Financial or Financial Peace).  We were asked about the most important lesson we learned from the seminar.  Quickly, we responded with "Get on a budget."

But throughout the coming days, I realized how wrong my answer had been.  The purpose of the seminar and many like it are to refocus our views of money, provision, and giving.  Living on a budget is a tool not the end goal.

Imagine reaching a place of spiritual maturity to be able to honestly tell a friend,
...I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.  I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty.  I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. (Phil 4:11b-12)
