Remembering Heros

I had intentions of posting something light-hearted today, but I couldn't ignore the pain of a former tennis teammate and high school friend.  Today, marks the second anniversary of her husband's death, SrA Daniel James Johnson.  Read her story as she recaps October 5, 2010.

Not only is Kristen making sense of loosing her best friend, but she is recovering from a September surgery that removed cancer in her abdomen.

Her pain has left me speechless.  I only had tears in my eyes as I prayed for her this morning.

Thank you, Kristen, for your openness and honesty.

As I continue my day, I ponder James 1:2-3, and what it looks like manifested in my life...

Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance...

I'm thankful I have Beth Moore and the women at FCC and the Harbor to take the journey with me this Fall.
