What is your life?

Now listen, you who say,
"Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city,
spend a year there, carry on business and make money."
Why, you don't even know what will happen tomorrow.
What is your life?
You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.
Instead, you ought to say, "If it is the Lord's will,
we will live and do this or that."
James 4:13-15

I had this post ready to publish for over a week.  Interesting how current events can make it seem more relevant as we reflect on how quickly lives of family and friends can be taken from us.  When reading initial reports of the horrible crime in Connecticut, I came across this article by Albert Mohler.

Even in the midst of mayhem and unspeakable grief, we can find hope.  Please read the entire article for the context of his closing statement.
God, not the murderer, has the last word. For those in Christ, there is the promise of full restoration. Even in the face of such unmitigated horror, there is hope. “There is hope for your future, declares the Lord, and your children shall come back to your own country.”
