Last weekend we traveled down to Borrego Springs to visit my Nana and introduce her to the newest member of the family. In the days leading up to the trip I was very anxious about the trip since it would be our first long car ride (6+ hours) with Callen. But all my worrying was in vain. Turns out he's a great traveler. During our 4 day visit we enjoyed scrumptious food, warm weather (90+), swimming, beautiful views, free hot dogs at the air show, and chatting with Nana.
The warm weather prompted us to introduce Callen to Nana's unheated pool. He did not enjoy it or think it was refreshing. Needless to say, he spent most of the days and nights in only his diaper

| Font's Point |
Since Drew had never been to Font's Point, a popular overlook of the desert badlands, we decided to make the 4 mile off-road trek in our new-used AWD Saturn Vue. When we got to the end of the road, we were swarmed by bees. We scurried to the trail leaving the bees at the car but were greeted by oversized flying beetles. Once we arrived at the Point (no more than a 100 yards from where we parked), we disturbed the home to flying ants. We stayed a total of 3 minutes and ran back to the car to eat our lunch.
We were excited to attend an air show while visiting Borrego, but were quickly disappointed when we waited 2 hours to watch three planes fly stunt patterns. Unfortunately, they flew too high above the airport to be entertained.
Advantages of going: didn't need ear plugs, saw the national champion fly, consumed 3 hot dogs and 1 hamburger (they were free courtesy of the American Legion), and walked on the run way.

On our way back home we made a spontaneous stop at the Denny's abode. Unfortunately Suzanne and Zachary weren't there, but Joe welcomed us and fixed a delicious Tri-Tip lunch!
